Sadly, Prairie Crossing Preschool has closed its door for the final time. Prairie Crossing Elementary is in need of the classroom for their rapidly growing kindergarten. There are other nearby schools offering preschool for the
2020-2021 school year, including Legacy Point, Gold Rush, and Pine Lane. For more information about our preschool program, nearby classrooms, and a registration packet, please visit the DCSD Early Childhood Website or call 720-433-0025.

We want to thank Prairie Crossing Elementary for giving our preschool a wonderful home for these many years and wish them all the best in the 2020-2021 school year.

May 2020

We are so proud of all of our Prairie Crossing Preschool graduates!! They are now officially Kindergartners. It was not the End of Year celebration we had envisioned but we are so grateful for the love and support we received from our preschool families, and their patience as we quickly learned and implemented this new way of teaching and learning from home. They all hung in there with us and implemented this new teaching style as best they could with the needs of their families in mind. We send our preschool students into kindergarten with lots of love and hugs and know their new teachers will love them as much as we do.
Congratulations, PCE Preschool!

For children in general, and for young children in particular, self-initiated play is a basic mode of learning. Through such play, children create new learning experiences that they might not otherwise encounter.

In an effort to take further action to address the public health threat of COVID-19, Governor Polis signed an executive order suspending in-person learning in public and private schools across the state from March 23 to April 30. The Douglas County School District will be following this executive order, meaning our buildings will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. This includes Before and After Care (BASE), preschool programs, and facility rentals.
