All About Mrs. Smith!

Hello, My name is Mari Smith.  This is my tenth year of teaching.  I have taught first through fifth grades.  I began my teaching career in Phoenix, AZ.  I moved to Parker, CO in 2015 and am very lucky to be teaching here at Northeast Elementary.  I am enthusiastic about teaching in a Project Based Learning environment.

Throughout my lifetime, I have moved several times.  I have lived in Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, Iowa, Nevada, and Arizona.  I went to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where I earned my BS of Elementary Education.  We moved back to Arizona where I began my teaching career.  While teaching, I went back to school (twice) to earn my Master's degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Community Colleges and the second time for my Principal Certificate.  My degrees were earned at Northern Arizona University.

My family is very import to me.  My husband, Gary and I moved to Parker, CO the first of Aug. 2015.  We have two boys, Evan and Andrew.  Evan is married to Madison and in the Air Force.  Andrew is happily living life in Phoenix Arizona.  We have one Grandson, Kaden who is the love of our lives!!  In my spare time, I love to travel, exercise, and trying new things!!
