Hello First Grade Families,
We are really enjoying learning about different winter holidays.  I hope you are enjoying this special time of year with family and friends.  Guided reading books will not be coming home tomorrow because we will be attending the choir concert.

Our winter party is next Monday.  Please read the information e-mail from our lead room parent Bora Brock.

Hello 1st grade parents and Happy Holidays!

The Winter Party is quickly approaching.  We have set the party for Monday, December 16th from 2:00 - 3:00.  We know it’s a very busy time of year for everyone, but hope we can find a few volunteers to help the kids  have a wonderful party!  Please find a link below to a signup genius.  Thanks for your help in advance!  If you have any questions, please feel free to call or text Bora Brock at 303-885-9257.

A friendly reminder that all Red Envelopes are due this Friday, December 13th.
"LEAN ON ME" BAKE SALE ON Tuesday,  December 10
Our third graders have been hard at work trying to make the holidays a little brighter for local families within their current PBL unit, titled "Lean on Me."  The third grade has "adopted" 2 families through the Crisis Center in Castle Rock.  The students are participating in "Operation Elf" and will provide holiday presents to each family member. Students have been working hard to raise money at home and will be hosting a bake sale on Tuesday, December 10, during student lunch times.  The bake sale will supplement the goal of raising $400 per classroom.  Baked goods will be $1.00 cash and all proceeds will go directly into a pot that will be divided equally for each class to purchase the gifts.  While we are asking our parents to provide "nut-free" items for the sale, and we are confident they will comply, please know that since the goods are coming from home we can't guarantee they are nut free.  If you have a child who is allergic to nuts, gluten, dairy etc., please coach them on acceptable items to purchase at the sale.  Thank you for helping us with this wonderful project.  We appreciate your support!!

Thank you and have a great week!

Star Student

I will pass out the "All About Me Tee" posters on curriculum night.  Please find a time when it is convenient for you to complete the poster with your child.  When it is completed send it back to school with your child.  Superstars will be chosen in the order the posters are received back to school.

When your child is a superstar they are allowed to bring a small toy or special object with them to share each day that week.

Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with any questions or concerns.

    Special Classes

We will rotate weekly through music, p.e./health and art throughout the year.  Please view the schedule below so that your child will be prepared for the week.  We will follow the MAPLE tree schedule. We start off the year in music with Mrs. Berndt.
