Hello,
We had such a great day today.  The kids are so funny and I enjoy working with them so much!!

The Move-a-Thon
Thanks so much for participating.  If you are wanting to come and cheer on your first-grade mover we are scheduled to go out to start on Thursday at 11:40 am.  It is so much fun to watch the kids!

Math test
Our math test on chapter 2 number bonds will be next Tuesday.  I will send the work we did in class and the chapter review test in this weeks Thursday folder.  This packet also has a cumulative review to work on with your child.  This does not need to be returned to school.  Please let me know if you would like additional practice pages for this chapter.

In Focus
Our In Focus lessons for this week are practicing random acts of kindness, making mistakes, encouraging risk-taking, and fostering an attitude of gratitude.  We are planning to surprise some of the people who help us at school with some random acts of kindness this week.

Thinking Maps
We have been learning ways to show our thinking.  So far we have learned about 6 different maps.  Maybe ask your child which one they enjoy doing the most.  Please see the picture below.

Secret Stories
So far we have learned the secret stories for all of our superhero vowels.  Ask your child to tell them to you.  I have attached another pic below.

Wolf back to school night

Star Student
Quinn

I will pass out the "All About Me Tee" posters on back to school night.  Please find a time when it is convenient for you to complete the poster with your child.  When it is complete send it back to school with your child.  Superstars will be chosen in the order the posters are received back to school.

When your child is a superstar they are allowed to bring a small toy or special object with them to share each day that week.

Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with any questions or concerns.

    Special Classes

We will rotate weekly through music, p.e./health and art throughout the year.  Please view the schedule below so that your child will be prepared for the week.  We will follow the MAPLE tree schedule. We start off the year in music with Mrs. Berndt.
