Welcome to Mrs. Haskell's Biology and Applied Biology class!

I am so excited to be back at Mountain Vista this year for my fourth year!  I started teaching in 1996 after getting a degree in education with minors in science and social studies from the University of Kansas (ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!). The first 19 years of my teaching career I taught middle school science and I am so happy about the switch to high school!  I love the energy, spirit, and responsibility of high school students.

My husband and I have two girls, ages 12 and 14.  They keep us busy with their activities but I still find time to play volleyball, garden, workout at Orange Theory, spend time on my standup paddle board, and read.  We love to hike and bike as a family as well.

I am looking forward to a positive, fun, learning-filled year in biology.  It is my goal to help students see how science applies to their lives and to help instill a curiosity about what goes on around them in the natural world.
