¡Bienvenidos! ~ Sra. Malsam ~ Español 2 y Español 2H

Año escolar: 2021-2022

A quick introduction in case you visit this page before the first day of school!

I'm Sra. Malsam. This is my 7th year at Chaparral and I am so excited to be here and meet you!

I taught in California for 18 years before moving here to Colorado. I've always taught Spanish, all levels. It's the best class in all of High School because you get to do all the fun things from elementary school, in Spanish!

I'm teaching H Span 2 ... which is basically Spanish 2 and 3 combined, allowing you to skip ahead to Spanish 4 after finishing the year. And Spanish 2, which I have taught for many years.

I am half "Argentina" and have lived in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Brasil, Uruguay, Mexico and have traveled through Perú, Spain and Costa Rica. I am so excited to share the rich culture of these and all Latin countries with you this year!

And I LOVE MUSIC, so get excited about learning the best Latin songs EVER in class this year!

We will be using CANVAS this year, you already have an account and you already have access to it on the web and through the app. As I build the class, you'll start seeing some materials posted there.

We will be using AVANCEMOS as our textbook. You can request a login to access the materials online, but all the important materials will be posted on Canvas.

Welcome to Español con la Sra. Malsam!

MATERIALS:

I like to help you stay organized in a way that works best with this course; this is especially important as you move on to Spanish 3 or 4 after this year. Therefore you will need:

  • A 3-Ring Binder with 5 dividers:

    • Diario - (daily warm up)

    • Vocabulario - (so you can have all your vocabulary lists in one place as a personal dictionary)

    • Canciones - (song lyrics)

    • Apuntes - (Grammar and other notes so you can have them all in one place as a reference)

    • Tareas - (practice and homework exercises)
