Welcome to 4th Grade! It's going to be an amazing year filled with lots of learning, laughter, and fun. I am so excited to be your student’s fourth grade teacher this year! I am Mrs. Steppuhn and this is my 15th year at Flagstone and 21st year teaching. I have taught third grade through sixth grade. Teaching is my passion and I am looking forward to sharing this passion with your students. I have a Master’s Degree in Reading and I always strive to make sure every one of my students enjoys reading! I love to read and Read Aloud is one of my favorite parts of the day. I enjoy recommending books to students based on their interests. I also love to write and solve math problems in different ways. It is so fun to see all of the great writing pieces that come out of fourth grade!
I love the outdoors, running, hiking, skiing, and spending time with my family. I have a 15-year old, a 13-year-old, a 10-year-old, 3 labs, 2 cats, frogs, bearded dragons, Cayman crocodiles, chameleons, iguanas, geckos, salamanders, a ton of turtles, and many more! I live in Elizabeth with my family. This summer, I spent quality time with my family, ran Camp Invention, spent time outdoors, and hung out with the rest of my family in the Carolinas! We had a lot of fun swimming, visiting, and playing! Originally from Pennsylvania, I have been proud to call this beautiful state of Colorado my home since 1995! I hope that everyone had a great summer as well and that you are ready to come back to school. Please email me at: rasteppuhn@dcsdk12.org if you need to get in touch with me! I am so excited for this year and hope to build positive relationships with students and families by making connections, using humor, and having a caring classroom. I believe that all students are unique individuals and I always enjoy getting to know each one. When supported, all students can and will learn!
