Course Requests 2020/2021

Elementary Students - Grades K-6 

Elementary Students are placed in courses according to needs determined by a body of evidence and beginning of the year assessments.  

Kindergarten is considered half day and students will take Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. 

1st - 6th grade students will be placed courses for the full year that include:
*Language Arts - reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, and grammar
*Math
*Science
*Social Studies

All 1st-6th students will take one elective and will be given a choice of: 

Art, PE, Technology or Spanish.

Middle School Students - Grades 7th - 8th

All middle school students will take 5 Core courses: 
-Language Arts Semester 1 and Semester 2
-Math Semester 1 and Semester 2  *
-Science Semester 1 and Semester 2
-Social Studies Semester 1 and Semester 2
-Integrated PE and Health Semester 1 and 2 

In addition, each middle school student will choose either: 
  • 1-year long elective OR 2 semester-long electives

Step 1.  Go to Infinite Campuslog in with either your student portal information or your parent portal information. 

Step 2. Open the eDCSD Middle School Course Guide to help you choose the electives offered.  You will see the course names and the course numbers within the course guide.
You will be selecting Semester 1 and Semester 2 courses

Step 3.
  Choose your electives in the Infinite Campus Portal

High School 9th through 12th Grade

Step 1.  Review your transcripts found in Infinite Campus.  Gather the credits you have earned and fill in a 4 Year Academic Plan.

Step 2.  Once you have filled in your Academic Plan, you will easily see which courses you should take for the year.  To give you an idea on which courses are appropriate for your grade, see the following course request sample sheets.  View the one that pertains to you and your grade.
Note: A student must have passed Algebra 1 prior to taking Algebra II, can take Algebra 1 simultaneously with Geometry if needed.  (See the course guide for pre-requisites)

Step 3.  Go to Infinite Campus, log in with either your student portal information or your parent portal information. Open  the High School Course Guide to help you choose the courses offered.  You will see the course names and the course numbers within the course guide.  
Please choose both first-semester and second-semester courses.  The course guide will tell you if the course offered is a one-semester course or a year-long course.
