Course Requests 2018/2019

Steps for 9th through 12th Grade:
(Steps for Middle School and Elementary are below)

Step 1.  Review your transcripts found in Infinite Campus.  Gather the credits you have earned and fill in a 4 Year Academic Plan.

Step 2.  Once you have filled in your Academic Plan, you will easily see which courses you should take for the year.  To give you an idea on which courses are appropriate for your grade, see the following course request sample sheets.  View the one that pertains to you and your grade.
**Must have passed Algebra 1 prior to taking Algebra II, can take Algebra 1 simultaneously with Geometry if needed.  (See course guide for pre-requisites)

Step 3.  Go to Infinite Campus, log in with either your student portal information or your parent portal information. Open the eDCSD High School Course Guide to help you choose the courses offered.  You will see the course names and the course numbers within the course guide.  Please choose both first semester and second-semester courses.  The course guide will tell you if the course offered is a one-semester course or a year-long course.

If you have specific course requests that are different than what is required, please contact your counselor, Mrs. Bliek (10-12) or Mrs. Alsup (7-9).
(An example of this might be taking an upper-level math course)

Steps for Middle School Students Grades 7th - 8th:


All middle school students will take 5 Core courses:
-Language Arts Semester 1 and Semester 2
-Math Semester 1 and Semester 2 **See note below!
-Science Semester 1 and Semester 2
-Social Studies Semester 1 and Semester 2
-PE- Semester 1 OR Semester 2
- Health - Semester 1 OR Semester 2

Along with these cores, you will get to choose either 2 other semester-long courses or one year-long course.

Step 3.  Choose your electives in the Infinite Campus Portal

Elementary Students; Grades K-6 

Elementary Course Selections for the 2018-2019 School Year-
Elementary Students are placed in courses according to needs determined by a body of evidence and beginning of the year assessments.  All 1st - 6th grade students will be placed courses for the full year that include:
*Language Arts - reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, and grammar
*Math
*Science
*Social Studies
*Technology

In addition:

Kindergarten is considered half day and students will take Language Arts, Math, Science 

and Social Studies. 

All K-6 Students will take a technology course for one elective, and be given a choice for 

their second elective from Art, Music, PE, or Spanish.  Fill out your request HERE.
