 Get Your Holiday Party On!

Sunday, December 3rd from 3 to 6 pm Athleta and Kendra Scott in Park Meadows will have discounts, drawings, swag bags, sips, sweets, treats, and more! Make it a date at these and other participating merchants! See the flyer HolidayArtFINAL.png  for even more details.

Holiday Shop is Coming!

Our holiday shop is coming! Let the shopping begin! The shop will be open November 28 through December 1.  Students may shop during recess (with the permission of their teacher) or after school until 4pm. Some teachers have elected to go as a class and this provides an extra opportunity for ideas and shopping. This year the Holiday Shop will be housed on our garden level of Eagle Ridge in room 160.

The Holiday Shop consists of an array of small items from 25 cents up to $12.00! This is a great opportunity to teach students budgeting, thinking of others at this time of the year and showing gratitude for all!

Big thanks to our own John Freeman who has tirelessly taken on this project for the last two years! Thank you John! Come down and check it out!!

At our meeting yesterday we announced our annual, “Making CHANGE with Change” philanthropist program to help those in our community.  Our kick off will be tomorrow!! We also voted to support, “Backpacks for Homeless”.  Below is information about each program.  Thanks so much for your support!

ERE Families,

We are participating in a program, "Backpacks for Homeless" to help support people in our local communities.  Please consider sending in one or more of the items below so we can make a difference in the lives of people who need our help.  Items should be brought to school on Dec. 6th and given to Student Senate officers or class representatives so they can be stuffed into backpacks on Dec. 7th.  Bags will be delivered to people who are homeless on Dec. 9th at Civic Center Park.  Thanks so much for your generosity!

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I need to share how thankful I am for all of those who donate their time or resources to the students and staff at Eagle Ridge. I hope I say it enough, but I hope that you also know how much I truly mean it. So many things couldn’t be done without your help! Things like the FUNd Run, Book Fair, Parent/Teacher Conference Meals, and the Holiday Shop would not be at the same level without your help! Our community is so generous, and really cares about all of the Eagle Ridge  students, not just their own. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do. THANK YOU!

Current  ERE volunteer opportunities:

Holiday Shop is coming November 27th- December 1st! We need a great deal of help getting this event up and running for our student body. It is a great way to teach student the importance of giving, as well as budgeting. If you want to help out with the Holiday Shop, click the link below:

Dads- We want you to be a Watch D.O.G.S Dad! You can spend 1/2 or the whole day in our building with your student(s) and help support the rest of the ERE student body. Sign-up below:

4th Annual Turkey Bingo

Cresthill Middle School will be sponsoring its 4th Annual Turkey Bingo on Thursday, November 16th from 6:30pm-8:30pm in the school commons. Doors open at6:00. We are anticipating 200-300 participants (families, friends, and community members) to join us in our festivities. Bingo contestants can either provide 3 cans of food for 10 playing cards or $2.00 per player. Additional playing cards may be purchased either with a can of food or $1.00. We will hold 10 rounds of bingo with a raffle drawing and bad jokes in between rounds. Bingo winners will receive a 10-13lb frozen turkey. Each winner will then have a chance to bowl their frozen turkey across the stage, strike down all 10 bowling pins, and receive a loaf of pumpkin bread with chocolate chips as a prize!

In addition, this year we plan to ‘heat-up’ the evening activities by having a chili cook-off competition. Students, staff, parents, community members, State Patrol, Douglas and Lone Tree Police, along with our friendly firemen/firewomen are welcome to compete (maximum of 30 contestants). Entry fee for each chili competitor will be $10.00. All participants are welcome to bring a family dinner, or purchase a chili wrist band for $5.00/person allowing them access to taste all types of chili and vote for their favorite. The winning cook(s) will have their name engraved on a trophy that will be displayed in the front hallway along with bragging rights for a year! All competitors need to have their entry fee paid prior to Tuesday, November 14th and complete the Chili Cook-Off form. Finally, dads we will have the Thursday Night Football game on.

Health Grant

Last year, DCSD received a large Planning Grant from Colorado Health Foundation in an effort to assess how the district supports students through the lens of the Whole School Whole Community, Whole Child model  WSCC. To meet a requirement of this grant we would like you to complete this survey:

DCSD Creating Healthy Schools Planning Grant - Parent Survey.

Our goal is to enhance the amazing health initiatives currently in our schools, and develop more opportunities to improve students’ overall well-being. Districts throughout Colorado are also doing this work, as the link between student health and success in academics and in life is well studied.

Eagle Ridge is also participating in this grant, led by Kaitlin Shock and Emmy Wittwer. Last year, we did Jam a Minute Fridays to keep our students active. This year we partnered with community to start our first Inaugural Run Club! We had over 50 students run a half marathon this fall and will complete our marathon in the Spring.

PTA Information

Text Box

Previously used by our students, these devices have now been replaced at the school due to outdated hardware, but they still have lots of good uses at home! For just $40-50 (depending on condition), one of these devices can be yours. Deliveries will be made before the Holiday break so think about adding these to your Holiday shopping list!

Ordering details will come after Thanksgiving break, see more information about the iPads here. PTA iPad Sale.docx

Scripts orders

It’s that time of the year again where we start to think of gifts for the school teachers and staff (“faculty”).  Your student should be bringing home the scripts order form today.  Please indicate the amount you would like to give to each faculty and then send it back to school with your student after break.  The faculty will be told who gave them money and how much and then they will have the opportunity to pick the gift cards of their choice.

This year we are also giving you an opportunity to order cards personally when we place the faculty’s orders.  The personal order form should be attached to the faculty one and payment will be needed upon ordering.  Gift cards will be delivered before winter break.

For an added bonus, you can do electronic gift cards while doing your holiday shopping by linking your scripts account to ERE PTA. See the flyer Scrips provides at

A portion of all scripts orders will be given back to ERE. 2017-2018 Winter Scrip Order Form for ERE.pdf

Reminders for Thanksgiving Break and Holiday Shopping:

  • Use for all your amazon purchases. Please designate Eagle Ridge PTA as your organization to donate too and a portion of your proceeds will come back to ERE.

  • Use your King Soopers reloadable gift card for all your grocery needs.  5% of everything loaded on the card will come back to ERE.
