MEET OUR SPECIALS TEAM!

A Colorado native, Nick Forest ran track and played soccer at Arapahoe High School and went on to run track and play rugby at Western State Colorado University where he studied exercise sport science with an emphasis in K-12 education.  Since the age of eight, Nick knew that he wanted to teach physical education. Nick loves PE because he sees students in a completely different light. Students don’t just play in Nick’s class- they work on life skills, team work and  try new things that they may not have had the opportunity to do otherwise.  This is Nick’s second year at Eagle Ridge, Nick loves the school spirit shown in the traditions and pride throughout the entire school community. In his spare time, Nick loves to play golf, he also coaches track and field at Rock Canyon High School and loves watching any type of sport!

Angie Toline is in her twenty-sixth year of teaching.  Prior to teaching Music, Angie taught 1st, 3rd, 4th grades as well as in a special education behavior program.  Following her love of music, Angie began teaching music five years ago. She feels the best part of teaching music is the opportunity to spend time with all of the students from the whole school. She teaches music combining five elements of music education: students learn to listen, play, move, create and sing. She wants students to see how music connects people and encourages students to follow their passions! Angie has a two-year-old son named Finn. She loves spending time with her sweet boy as well as rooting for Nebraska, her alma mater.

Bre Determan is excited to be joining the Eagle Ridge staff and community as the new art teacher. This will be her 2nd year in Colorado and 5th year teaching. Bre grew up in Clinton, Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!) with a degree in Elementary Education, endorsements in art and reading, and a technology minor. She taught elementary art for 3 years in Newton, Iowa before moving out to Colorado last summer. Last year she taught elementary art in Aurora, CO where she was named “Specialist of the Year”! Bre is excited to get to know all of the students here at Eagle Ridge and to help the students incorporate their interests into their art projects. In her spare time she enjoys golfing, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with her family and friends. Make sure you follow the Eagle Ridge art room Instagram (@determanart) to see what the students are working on throughout the year!
