Inaugural Running Club at Eagle Ridge!

Please join the inaugural running club at Eagle Ridge Elementary! Our goal is to meet twelve times running one mile each time and then cumulating with a celebration as we complete the last one mile for a half marathon! Running starts on Friday September 7!!!

ACTIVITIES RUN BY EXTERNAL ORGANIZATIONS 

Chess Club:

National Chess Master Todd Bardwick will be offering a seven-week chess class at Eagle Ridge Elementary starting on Monday, August 28, 2017.
 
The class will be structured teaching in the first half hour and then the students will play each other the second half hour while Todd gives suggestions, answers questions, and helps them to better understand chess strategies. The students will be introduced to all phases of the game, etiquette, tactics, and strategies. No prior chess knowledge is necessary. Grades K-6.
 
Chess class will meet in Art Room from 7:30-8:30 am on Monday mornings before school. 

Dates for the class are August 28, September 18October 2 & 16November 6 & 27, December 11. 

 
Tuition for the Fall session is $135. Please make checks out to Colorado Master Chess and mail your check and entry form to 1 Red Fox Lane; Englewood, CO 80111.

During this fun after-school program students learn programming concepts and develop computational thinking skills. They'll learn how to program their own video games, animations and digital art using the MIT-developed computer language Scratch!

NASA ACADEMY OF Future SPACE EXPLORERS

Developed in partnership with NASA, this engaging enrichment program is truly out of this world! Investigate asteroids, comets, meteors and other forms of space phenomena! Learn to spot the difference between the lights of airplanes and the lights of satellites. Discover how stars and planets are formed -- and explore how galaxies come together within our universe!

Build your own model rocket to take home, and watch in awe as we send a rocket soaring through the sky! Try your hand at some of the technologies astronauts use while living in space, and learn about innovations in space exploration! Students will explore these concepts and more in this exciting program that will take us to infinity and beyond ... without even leaving the classroom!
