Open Enrollment for the 2016-2017 School Year

Open Enrollment Windows

Round 1:  November 1- January 5, 2016   CLOSED

 If a student is not accepted at a school during the first round choice enrollment, the student will remain on the school’s prioritized waitlist and be carried over to the second round choice enrollment.

Round 2:  February 15-June 15, 2016

Applications during the second round are added to the prioritized round one list on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once a student has open enrolled to a school, that becomes their assigned school throughout the grades served at that school. Return to their neighborhood school can happen at semester breaks by filing an "Intent to Return" form with the neighborhood school by December 1 if returning for second semester, and by January 5 if returning in the fall of the next school year. - See more at: https://www.dcsdk12.org/choice-programming/ten-facts-about-open-enrollment#sthash.65xiPXzP.dpuf

If you are new to the Rocky Heights community and have recently moved into our attendance area please begin with Step 1 below in order facilitate the registration process.  This process applies to families who want to enroll their student (s) for the remainder of the 2015/16 year or residency can be confirmed for the 2016/17 year.  Please contact your student's grade level counselor, with any questions or concerns.  A start date for your student will be determined once we receive all registration paperwork, determination/completion of placement assessment and a schedule is completed.

Step 1
In order to begin to register at Rocky Heights, you will need to provide information to the Registrar.  Below is the information needed to begin.
  • Birth Certificate (State Certified Preferred)
  • Immunizations (Colorado Law)
  • Proof of Residence
    • This can be Warranty Deed, Deed of Trust, Tax Notice, Lease Agreement, Assessor Page or Notarized letter from person you are living with (A copy of their Proof of Residency must must included)
  • Transcript, Last Report Card, or Withdrawal Form
Step 2
Residency in our attendance area must be established before enrollment can be confirmed.  Once residency is established you may download the forms below.  These forms can be returned to Rocky Heights or scanned and emailed to Registrar, Kimberly Gower.
Step 3
Course Selection:  
Students at each grade level have required courses and elective courses.  Those courses are laid out by grade level in the documents below.  Updated forms will be posted here for download when available, otherwise you will be asked to make selections upon returning all other registration materials.
