Meet Mrs. Lewton!

Hello! My name is Carolyn Lewton and this will be my tenth year at Cimarron!  I have taught Drama for 9 years, but I am SO excited to look at storytelling through a different lens as the Yearbook and Multimedia teacher.  It's going to be an exciting year, and I can't wait to see what we create together in class. This page is designed to give you some information about who I am. Enjoy :)

FAMILY:

I was born in California, but I only stayed there until I was two so I like to consider myself an unofficial Colorado native.  I spent the next nineteen year.  My husband works in cyber security, but he was a Wellness teacher at Mountain Ridge Middle School.  He and I currently live in Parker with our daughter, Macy, our son, Benjamin, and our two dogs, Penny and Libby.

EDUCATION:

I attended Adelphi University, in Garden City, NY with the hope of achieving my dream of becoming an actress.  Two years into my degree, I had a change of heart. In my acting training I discovered that I would much rather share my passion through helping others understand theatre.  I transferred to the University of Northern Colorado and became a Theatre Education major.  I student taught at Mountain Ridge Middle School in the Fall of 2013.  I graduated with my degree in Theatre Education and a minor in History in December of 2013!

FUN:

In my free time I love to cook and bake,  build legos, read or go to a putt putt course.  I still find opportunities to watch theatre or perform in the community.  This summer I spent a lot of time with my family!  We took a trip to Driggs, Idaho for a family reunion and another trip to Cedaredge, CO to see my husband's grandparents.  We also enjoyed spending time at the pool and the zoo.  I LOVE anything Disney related!  I will find any excuse to watch a Disney movie, play Disney trivia or visit a Disney  theme park!  I didn't get a chance to go to Disney this summer, but I am hoping to go for Spring Break!
