Hello! I’m Carolyn Quinn, and I teach Language Arts on the split sixth- and seventh-grade Pathfinders and Adventurers teams. I love being a part of the Rocky Heights community. With several years of experience as an educator, I am dedicated to creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for all students. I am passionate about implementing differentiated instruction and fostering a love for learning. I have a proven track record of increasing student engagement and academic performance.
On a personal note, I have been married for twenty-eight years and have three amazing daughters. My eldest daughter is a registered nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. My two other daughters are in college. We enjoy spending time together playing board games, watching movies, taking walks with our dog Maizie, and traveling.
Here are a few of my favorite things. I love to cook Spanish and Italian dishes, bake, and create cozy spaces through interior decorating.
On a final note, as your child's teacher, my goal is to help your child see that learning is fun and rewarding. I will keep the students engaged through collaborative hands-on activities. I believe that a nurturing environment is created by providing positive reinforcement, so students feel comfortable in the classroom.
Here's to a great year!
Mrs. Quinn
I became a teacher in order to provide a positive fun learning environment where students will feel safe and at home. The students will be very engaged in their learning through collaborative hands-on activities. My goal is to keep students motivated and focused to want to learn more and ask more questions.
Another goal for my students is to have them become good honest citizens for our world. By building a community within the classroom where we help each other and work hard to achieve our goals.
My motto for my class: Work hard, be kind and you will be successful.
