Introduction

Welcome to Team Caspian!

Welcome to Team Caspian! My name is Calley Rademacher and I will be your 8th grade Social Studies teacher! I am originally from Michigan and received my bachelor's degree in secondary education with an emphasis in Social Studies from Central Michigan University where I was a CMU cheerleader! Fire Up Chips!  I also have a masters degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. My husband, Lance, and I live in Parker with our 2 cats Mimsy and Franklin D. Roosevelt!

This is my tenth year teaching U.S. history and I absolutely love it! I spent my first year teaching 7th and 8th grade Social Studies in Hobbs, New Mexico, but have been a Cimarron Colt ever since! In 2019, I was honored with the Teacher of the Year for National Citizenship Education award by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

8th grade Social Studies is very exciting! This course focuses on the history of the United States starting from the original Thirteen Colonies through the Civil War/Reconstruction. We will also be making some pit stops along the way to examine U.S. government and citizenship!

I am looking forward to working with your child this school year and encourage parental involvement. Be sure to check the calendar for upcoming events, projects, and due dates and to familiarize yourself with Google Classroom where you will be able to find assignments to download and complete from home.

Please feel free to contact me with questions at any time!
