Technology at BRE is used as a tool to deepen the understanding of content.  Students engage in innovative learning activities using technology tools and applications aligned with curricular grade level expectations.  The Colorado State Standards for all content areas include a technology piece.  We use the ISTE Standards, which are the standards for learning, teaching, and leading in the digital age and are use educationally worldwide.   My approach is to integrate technology into everyday learning and help prepare students with 21st century skills.

"The illiterate of the 21st century
won't be those who can't read & write but those
who can't learn unlearn & relearn" - Alvin Toffler

I work with staff and students to integrate technology into the curriculum.  We use a collaborative teaching model where the teacher and I plan and teach the units together.  This benefits the students by having two teachers working with them, while their teacher is also learning technology skills beside them.  All teachers participate in this model.  The length of time I work with a class is determined by the project they are working on and how long it takes to complete.  Some are only a day or two, while others can last several weeks.  It is great to follow students from the beginning stages of a unit to the end and see the progression of their learning.
