VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Beef Quarters Fundraiser

posted Jun 23, 2016, 8:31 AM by Eric Mohlis

Hello DC-G Fine Arts Community!

Once again this year, we have the opportunity to volunteer at the Iowa

Beef Quarters at the Iowa State Fair to earn $5000 to support Friends of

Fine Arts!  We need a total of 80 volunteers (40 each day) to volunteer

to work at the Beef Quarters.  All Volunteers must be able to attend the

entire shift (2:45 - 9:00pm), should be going into 9th grade or older,

should plan to wear close toed shoes (no flip flops), and be ready to

have some fun with other FOFA volunteers!!  All volunteers will receive

a ticket for free entry into the State Fair and also will receive a free

meal at the Beef Quarters before the shift begins.  (Time sometimes

allows for a quick meal during shift, but not always, so volunteers

should plan to eat before starting.  Beverages are provided during the

shift.)

When:  Wednesday 8-17-16 and/or Sunday 8-21-16, 2:45 - 9:00pm

Where:  Cattlemen's Beef Quarters at the Iowa State Fair

Why:  To support FOFA and all of the fine arts at DC-G

Students can also earn hours for silver cord hours for the

event

             To have fun with friends

How:  You can sign up for a volunteer spot on Volunteer Spot! Please

note that the jobs are as we know them at this time.  There could be

some changing of jobs if needs change.  Once you have signed up for a

spot - you will have one - even if the job changes slightly.

Amazing FOFA Race

posted May 31, 2016, 5:35 AM by Eric Mohlis

Attached you will find a flyer for the AMAZING FOFA RACE--one of our largest FOFA fundraiser and membership drive for the year. Please plan encourage your kids to come help. FOFA has set a goal of raising $15,000 with this event. To do it, we need everyone's help!

The event goes from 5-8pm in the MEADOWS cafeteria. It will begin right after show choir camp and we will provide dinner (meal, drink, and dessert).

The students begin with the eating challenge (dinner). From there, students will break into teams and prepare jingles to sing before they head out with their maps. We will need treats donated by parents. We also appreciate parents who are willing to drive some of our groups as not everyone may be able to drive. Please consider helping; it is a very fun time!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email or contact Julie Koch or Sandy Bayse, our Amazing FOFA Race chairs.

Have a wonderful summer! See everyone in August!
