Parent and Student Handbook

Respectful, Responsible, Ready            "100 Years OLD:  2010"

 Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends,

Welcome to a new school year!  It’s a new day—time for a new beginning for us all!  The way to increase your child’s academic performance is through three simple ways!

Attendance

Your child’s daily attendance is crucial to his/her success.  It is expected that ALL children are in their classrooms and ready for instruction at 8:45a.m. each and every day.  (This includes Head Start, Prekindergarten and Kindergarten children.)  Our goal is 97%!

Behavior

Students are expected to maintain positive and productive school behavior in the classroom, throughout the building and on field trips.  Students who exhibit good school citizenship allow all in the classroom to learn.  Students who have difficulties in this area will be placed on behavior plans to help affect change and increase to their self-discipline.  Parents are asked to be ambassadors for us!

Classwork/Homework

What’s the point of going to school?  Your child comes to learn to read, write and compute.  He/she will learn these things though all of the many classroom instructional activities focused on the standards.  Students will be able to demonstrate what they know and are able to do in many ways.  Grading will be based on classwork, homework and projects.

Our 2009-2010 parent/student handbook and parent/student/staff compact are attached.
