Mission Statement

The Wm. R. Davie Elementary School library is committed to creating innovative and personalized experiences that help every student reach their highest potential by empowering them to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.

Meet Mrs. Woodruff

Debra Woodruff is the William R. Davie librarian. She earned her Masters of Information and Library Science from UNC-Greensboro and began working in the WRD library in 2016. Prior to assuming this role, she was an elementary Spanish teacher for 20 years in the Davie County Schools. Ms. Woodruff coaches the Battle of the Books and Robotics teams. She is always eager to help students find just the right book, website, or app for their schoolwork or personal enjoyment. She runs the library makerspace and enjoys helping students develop their ideas and create original projects. In her spare time she enjoys reading (obviously!), exercise, and arts & crafts.
