About ESL
What is ESL?
ESL stands for English as a Second Language. ESL classes are created to teach the English language to students who are not fluent or still struggle with literacy due to the language barrier.
At Mocksville, students are pulled out for ESL classes. In those classes, students are taught English through content. It can be Social Studies, Science or Language Arts. When a student is receiving other services, besides ESL services, sometimes we pull in the regular classroom to support the classroom teacher without pulling out the students one more time.
