Facilitator Volunteers:
Friendly, outgoing volunteers are needed to help facilitate programs specifically related to FACING MARS temporary exhibit.  Volunteers will need to be able to assist patrons of all ages with activities in the exhibit, demonstrating various components, directing patrons, and answering questions.
Weekday and weekend shifts of 3 hours are available and one shift per week is required.

Exhibit Interpreters:
Interact with guests, explaining the exhibits and making them come alive.

Event Specialists:
Greet and direct guests, assist with crafts and activities, and help Museum staff as needed. Weekend and evening shifts vary in time. Possible events include: Ethnic Heritage Festival, the July 4th Front Row for the Fireworks, Snowflake Break and Night at Your Museum, along with scout programs, summer camps and Art Prize.

Guide Volunteers:
Work directly with students, present educational programs based upon the Museum’s permanent exhibits.  Many include “hands on” activities and all meet State of Michigan educational requirements.  Shifts are available weekday mornings and early afternoons.  Times and days vary according to teacher requests.  These positions provide an excellent opportunity to contribute to the education of children.

Call (616) 456-3977 and ask for the Volunteer Office for more information.
