National Trail Day

Darrington Recognizes National Trail Day!

Good Hiking Trails Don't Just Happen!
Mark Your Calender For June 7, 2014!

Last year we worked on the beautiful
White Chuck Bench Trail!
The 2014 trail project is to announced soon.

The USFS Trail Crew begins trail repairs in mid-spring and will continue this work through summer until autumn.  Every spring brings new surprises to the Trail Crew,
washed out bridges and crossings, fallen trees and other obstacles making trails impassable.

National Trail Day, the first Saturday in June, is a day set aside by the Forest Service for volunteers to come out and help with the huge task of maintaining our many miles of hiking trails.  For 2012 the date is June 2nd, sign up deadline is May 31st,   The Darrington Ranger Station welcomes volunteers of all ages, (with adult supervision) to lend a hand on National Trail Day.  To sign up contact the Darrington Ranger station.

Our youth from Darrington worked several hours to clean the Beaver Lake Trail bridge, now it will shed water and will not be mossy and slippery.  Next time you cross that bridge remember to thank a volunteer!

Being in the great outdoors working side by side with neighbors, family and friends both old and new while preserving the trails you love.  Once the work day is done please come join us for a appreciation potluck dinner just a way to thank our volunteers.  Come have a little fun Darrington style with music, door prizes and lots of good food.  We'll wind it all up with some fun.  Potluck starts 4:30ish at the Mansford Grange which is walking distance from the Ranger Station and there is plenty of parking at the grange.
