Dear Community Member:

My name is Mrs. Emerson and I would like to welcome you to the Emerson Community! I am looking forward to meeting all of you, and I know that together, we will have an incredible start to the year. Some of my favorite things to do are to play tennis, paint, and look for sea glass. Our class commuinty is a place where we think, wonder, and try our best to help one another. This year, in class, we will work hard to become stronger mathematicians, writers, readers, and masters of the social sciences! There might even be some sharing done on chairs…yes chairs! In the Emerson Community, we consider ourselves a family, because we support one another with each triumph and challenge. One small act of kindness can make the biggest difference in our lives.

Listed below are the supplies and items I would like you to have for the first day. You need to bring your own set of earplugs/headphones and keep them in your cubby. In an effort to maintain safety and to keep school supplies separated to specific individuals, kindly bring a small plastic bin or shoebox. (LABELED WITH YOUR NAME)

• 4 Two-Pocket folders in assorted colors

• 1 Pencil Case/box

• 2 Pkg. Low Odor Dry Erase Markers (chisel tip)

• Whiteboard eraser

• 1 Doz. Pencils

• 1 Pkg. Markers

• 2 Pens

• 3 spiral notebooks

• 10 Pkg. Sticky Notes - at least 3”x3”

• Picture of yourself reading in a favorite spot.

• A book you are currently reading or just really love

• Personal Headphones that also have a microphone so that we can meet virtually in the same room with some of our at-home classmates if we need to.
