To put an MP3 Player on your Google Site Page:

(from http://sites.google.com/site/annuairevin/playing-sounds-in-google-sites)
  1. Include a File Cabinet page on your Google Site. Example:
    https://sites.google.com/a/danvillek12vt.us/technology/tech-tips/tech-tips-file-cabinet
  2. Upload your MP3 files there. Don't move it!
  3. Hover over the "Download" link to copy the location of the file onto a notepad file or somewhere else, you'll need it at step 6.  Mine was:
    https://sites.google.com/a/danvillek12vt.us/technology/tech-tips/tech-tips-file-cabinet/testing.mp3?attredirects=0&d=1
  4. Edit the page where you want the MP3 Player, put your cursor where you want it, and choose Insert / Gadget by URL.
  5. Insert the Google Audio Gadget (Insert / More Gadgets / Gadget by URL) with this URL:
    http://prac-gadget.googlecode.com/files/google-audio.xml

  6. The gadget will ask for the link to your mp3 file. Remove the "redirects part" (?attredirects=0&d=1) so it's just:
    https://sites.google.com/a/danvillek12vt.us/technology/tech-tips/tech-tips-file-cabinet/testing.mp3
  7. Save the page, and Voila! Looks like this:
