The  Credit Diploma Program offers students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma through the accumulation of credits. WERACE graduates must earn 23 credits in specific academic and elective areas and may transfer earned credits from other high schools. Credits for work or military experience may also be awarded.  Semesters begin in September and February.

Students have the opportunity to earn credits through classes,  computer-based courses and online courses through CT Virtual High School.  Students are strongly encouraged to take one or more computer-based courses to gain experience with technology and with this learning option.  Several post-secondary institutions offer on-line courses and it is beneficial for students to practice this option through WERACE while it is free of charge.

Each student will meet with a guidance counselor to develop an education plan. Classes are offered both day and evening.  Daytime classes are offered at 10 Crosby Street, Danbury, and evening classes are offered at Danbury High School, 43 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury.  Classes are offered on a Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs schedule. This program is offered both semesters.

There are specific attendance requirements for the CDP program.  Students must attend a minimum of 48 hours per full credit course, and only 3 absences are permitted.  All adults who successfully complete the required credits of the CDP program are awarded a high school diploma through WERACE.  A minimum of 2 credits must be earned from WERACE.

23 Credits must be earned as follows:
