Literacy Event for Parents at Shelter Rock on March 30
We are holding a very special literacy event on Thursday, March 30 (10 a.m. and 5 p.m.) to introduce to you our new digital resources as well as our new collection of library books. We are using Scholastic's Core Clicks (K-5) and Book FLIX (early literacy) in our classrooms to promote reading through these engaging digital books and activities. The student response so far has been extremely enthusiastic and we believe they will further increase students' interest and motivation to read. We hope that by families using these programs this summer that we can positively impact student achievement.
We will be teaching parents how to use these sites and we are giving you access so that you can assist your children with reading at home -- particularly during the summer months. There will be two identical sessions at the school. Parents may attend either the 10 a.m. or the 5 p.m. session. These will be approximately one hour long with time to practice with the assistance of our staff. Please RSVP to the principal's email or call the Main Office if you are planning to attend so that we have enough desk space and computers ready.
