                                                                       MRS.  SCHMIDT'S  BIO

I received my undergraduate degree  B.S. in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food Science from NIU, followed by a  dietetic internship in St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee.   Subsequently, I worked as a  Registered Dietitian while earning my  Master's Degree in Education from Roosevelt University.  Prior to my employment at  District 64,  I taught at Columbia College, Chicago Il.  

The skills students learn in the FACS s department can be used for a lifetime! 

  *A note to parents regarding food allergies:  Food allergies are addressed with students currently participating in Foods, Fun with FACS, FACS for the Outdoors, and Practical Arts (6th grade FACS) classes; however, nuts and peanuts are not used.  Modifications are on an as needed basis. Parents are welcome to contact me if concerns arise.
