Run to Live. Live to Run.
                  Go Panthers!

"I am a member of a team, and I rely on the team, I defer to it and sacrifice for it, because the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion."
-Mia Hamm

Congratulations to the GMS Sectional Boys and Girls Teams! They had an amazing run and are true champions on and off the field. The girls came in 6th place and the boys came in 10th place out of 14 teams. They have been leaders and motivators and have represented the best of GMS with their spirit and sportsmanship. They have cheered each other on and have cheered other athletes from other teams and have motivated others to be their best. As a parent expressed, "
I'm noticing many GMS runners coming back out to cheer on all of their teammates.  That's a great thing to see!" Please celebrate our sectional team and all our cross country runners for a fantastic season! They deserve it!

Congratulations to the cross country team on their first meet. It started out as a beautiful day with the girls race but a huge downpour muddied the boys race. Thanks for all runners for their team spirit and support during the storm.

Congrats to everyone! Our next meet will be away on Thursday at Wauconda.

Teamwork. Determination. Perseverance. These are all words that describe the cross country season. Girls and boys cross country teams continue to dominate. They both came in first against Hawthorne North and Barrington Station. The girls won by 17 points and boys won with an 11 point lead. Congratulations to all runners on another excellent meet. • Monday, 10/5 - SMSC - Conference Meet @ Barrington Station
As Henry Ford once said, "Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success." The GMS Cross Country team began their season coming together in late August as 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders - new and old. Through weeks of will-power, grit, and strength of character, they kept together supporting each other and creating new friendships and great memories. With the end of the season approaching, the cross country team have worked together to achieve success. The panthers had strong races in the conference meet yesterday in Barrington. All runners beat their times and many were able to run the 2 mile course without stopping. The 5th-7th grade girl's team came in second. Today they celebrate at Tastee Freez, not only for their personal or team wins, but for the honor, graciousness, and selfless contribution they made to the team as a whole. Please congratulate this outstanding group of athletes.
