Hello!  DeKalb High School wishes to remind families that as we begin the cold and flu season, we have seen an increase in illness among staff and students.  Please remember the best way to protect yourself is to be diligent with washing your hands after using the restroom, and before eating or handling food.  Refrain from touching your face, mouth or eyes as these are ports of entry for bacteria and viruses to enter your body and cause illness.  If you are sick with a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, remember to stay home until you are symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. DHS is doing what we can to keep the school environment clean, including adding additional disinfecting measures. At home, you can use a bleach-based cleaner to disinfect commonly-touched objects like door knobs, light switches, remotes and cell phones. All the best for a healthy new year!
