Maple Orchestra 2023-24

"Music is the electric soil in which the spirit lives, thinks ,and invents."   ~Beethoven

"It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. My discovery was the result of musical perception." ~~Einstein

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I take this opportunity to invite you and your child to participate in Maple Orchestra!

Learning to play a musical instrument is a challenging and rewarding activity. It places your child in a creative learning environment with an outstanding group of students. The sense of accomplishment that comes from performance encourages self-esteem. Music study also teaches coordination, self-discipline and encourages cooperation with others.

At Maple, we offer two levels of orchestra:

ALL students are placed in String Orchestra at Maple. Students selected for Chamber Orchestra will be in both orchestras and have rehearsals Monday - Thursday. Sectionals/lessons are held once a week during school on a monthly rotating schedule.

Some of our orchestra highlights include winter and spring concerts, solo and ensemble festival, holiday concerts, field trip to the Symphony Hall concert and much more!

A copy of the orchestra handbook is given to all the orchestra students at the beginning of the school year. The handbook contains important information such as grading procedures and criteria, attendance, concert/performance dates, classroom rules, individual practice, etc.

I look forward to sharing the rewards of music with you and your child. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best,

Mrs. Yoo
