Note: All late work is due on Friday, December 16.
Carefully read the directions below:
On Monday, December 19 you will complete an in-class essay that will count as half of your final examination. (That means it will count for 7.5% of your semester grade.) In that essay you will be asked to answer a question using the literature we studied this semester as the source of your evidence. You will be allowed to use your own handwritten notes (and study questions from our class) when you write the essay. Be sure you know the names of the most important characters and the plot details of the literature we've studied. You will not have to refer to each of the pieces of literature in your essay. Here is the literature we studied:
A Separate Peace
The Odyssey
Of Mice and Men
The Importance of Being Earnest
Midsummer Night's Dream
I repeat that you will not have to refer to each piece of literature in your essay--there will not be time. Still, for your essay you may be happy to have more potential evidence.
On the scheduled day of the exam you will take a multiple choice test that will count as 7.5% of your semester grade. We will review for this test in class the week of December 7-11. This test was prepared by the administration and it covers the following content:
