For Wednesday, October 26: Finish Chapter 1 of Of Mice and Men (we will start reading in class) and read Chapter 2 and answer Chapter 2 study questions.
For Thursday, October 27: Finish paragraph on Chapter 2. Submit it via turnitin.com and provide me with a hard copy.
For Monday, October 31: Read Chapter 3 and answer study questions for the whole chapter. (You may note that there are questions for the first part of the chapter and the second part. Your assignment is to answer all these questions.)
The above study questions are in "Freshman Honors Handouts," but note that the page numbers may be from another edition of the novel.
Rewrites of Books 1 and 4 Mini-essays are due Tuesday, Nov.1. Rewrites of Books 1,4,5, & 6 Mini-essays are due Tuesday, Nov. 1. You must meet with me during AM Support (on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30) if you wish to rewrite your paragraphs.
For Tuesday, November 1: Finish the novel.
For Friday, November 4: Complete the essay on Of Mice and Men. The assignment description is in "Freshman Honors Handouts." Submit your essay via turnitin.com and provide me with a hard copy.
For Monday, November 7: Prepare for a quiz on the myths from Demeter through Prometheus. Follow the study guide "Myths Yuo (sic) Need to Know," which is found in "Handouts."
During the week of Nov. 8 we will watch a film version of Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest.
Myth Quiz 3 is on Tuesday, November 15. This quiz covers the rest of the stories on from "Myths You Need to Know," from "Io" through "Daedelas" (95-195).
For Wednesday, Nov. 16 you should obtain a copy of the Folger edition of Shakespeare's play AMidsummer Night's Dream. Here are your options: 1. Buy a print version or check one out from a library. Be sure to buy or check out the Folger edition. You could also use another version and then use the free digital version to check the lines numbers. 2. For Thursday, Dec. 1: Finish mini-essay about Demetrius.

For Monday, Dec. 5: Finish Act 3 study questions.
For Wednesday, Dec. 7: Complete a mini-essay that begins with the following claim (or your version of it): Things get more complicated and confusing once the lovers run away into the woods. Use evidence from 2.2 as well. Also, Love is Complicated mini-essay rewrites are due.
For Friday, December 9: Complete Bottom mini-essay rewrites.
For Wednesday, December 14: Complete Demetrius mini-essay rewrites.
