By the end of class on Tuesday, October 29: Read "Baucis and Philemon" (182-184) and answer study questions.
By the end of class on Wednesday, October 30: Read "Midas" (186-190) and answer study questions.
By the end of class on Thursday, October 31: Read "Pygmalion" (192-193) and "Narcissus" (225-226) and answer study questions.
For Monday, November 4: Write sentences with vocabulary words from the myths, starting with "Baucis and Philemon" and prepare for a quiz covering the above four stories and the vocabulary.
For Tuesday, November 5: Read "Demeter and Persephone" and answer study questions.
For Wednesday, November 6: Read "Adonis" and "Orpheus" and answer study questions.
In class on Thursday, November 7: We will go over the myths and the vocabulary.
For Friday, November 8: Complete vocabulary sentences and prepare for a quiz on "Demeter and Persephone;" "Adonis;" and "Orpheus." The vocabulary words will also be on the quiz.
We will plan our essays on Monday, November 11 and work on them in the computer lab on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12 and 13. By the end of class on Thursday, November 14: Complete a full length essay that answers this question: Do the myths teach us valuable lessons?
