The assignments below are from Man the Myth-Maker. Man the Myth-Maker Myth Study Questions
For Friday, November 2: Read "Baucis and Philemon" (182-184) and answer study questions.
For Monday, November 5: Read "Midas" (186-190) and answer study questions.
For Tuesday, November 6 : Read "Pygmalion" (192-193) and "Narcissus" (225-226) and answer study questions.
For Wednesday, November 7: Write sentences with vocabulary words from the myths, starting with "Baucis and Philemon" and prepare for a quiz covering the above four stories and the vocabulary.
For Thursday, November 8: Read "Demeter and Persephone" and answer study questions.
In class on Friday, November 9: Read "Adonis" and "Orpheus" and answer study questions.
In class on Monday, November 12: We will go over the myths and the vocabulary.
For Tuesday, November 13: Complete vocabulary sentences and prepare for a quiz on "Demeter and Persephone;" "Adonis;" and "Orpheus." The vocabulary words will also be on the quiz.
For Monday, November 19: Complete a full length essay that answers this question: Do the myths teach us valuable lessons? (You could answer these questions: What do the myths we've studied teach us about advice? Do people listen to good and true advice?) Essay on Greek Myths
