Welcome to the Wauconda Community School District Website!
Wauconda Community School District is a PreKindergarten through 12th-grade school system serving nearly 4500 students from Lake County and McHenry Counties. The school district serves six communities, including Wauconda, Island Lake, Lake Barrington, Lakemoor, Port Barrington, Volo, and unincorporated areas in Wauconda, Algonquin, Fremont, and Nunda Townships. Wauconda CUSD 118 has earned an outstanding reputation for providing high-quality learning opportunities to our students. Our students embark on their education journey with commitment, purpose, and pride.
Our schools pride themselves in providing students with an engaging, rigorous curriculum, opportunities to participate in various extracurricular clubs and activities, especially at the middle and high school levels. Our students participate in numerous IHSA sports at the high school level and have access to robust clubs and extracurricular programs. It is an exciting time to be a student in the Wauconda CUSD 118 School District!

Our primary goals for this year include:
Working with the Wauconda Board of Education and engaging closely with the Cabinet Team and the Administrative Council in advancing D118’s Strategic Plan and,
Strengthening relationships across D118, supporting our committed staff and students, and finally,
Supporting the Board’s superintendent search process and ensuring a seamless transition for the new superintendent for the 2026-2027 school year.
Dr. Wegley will generally be present on Mondays and Wednesdays, while Dr. Leden will be at the helm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we will alternate Fridays. We plan to work diligently to coordinate our support, continue the good work underway, and keep the traditions that make Wauconda a special and successful school district.
