Welcome to the Cultural Studies program in the University of Minnesota Duluth's Sociology/Anthropology department.

As an undergraduate minor, Cultural Studies offers an interdisciplinary platform built on
four core areas:
  • Identity Politics
  • Cultures of Place
  • Media Cultures
  • Science/Technology/Medicine (STM)
No matter what your major is, a Cultural Studies minor immerses students in real-world problems and solutions from a variety of academic perspectives within the social sciences and humanities.

Honing skills in visual literacy, digital storytelling, and commons design principles, students become active citizens, able to analyze intersections of culture and power, as well as to respond and act on that analysis.
