Cypress Woods FFA is an Awesome Adventure!

By becoming a part of FFA you have the opportunity to raise an animal project. Projects can include Steers, Heifers, Lambs, Goats, Pigs, Turkeys, Chickens and Rabbits. You can also compete in Livestock Judging, Horse Judging, Poultry Judging, and Dairy Cattle Judging. FFA Students participate in Monthly Chapter Meetings, CFISD Livestock Show, and Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Tour Guiding.

Courtney Grape

Ms. Grape started teaching at Cypress Woods High School in 2021. She previously taught at Cypress Ridge High School since 2016. No stranger to Cypress Woods, Ms. Grape graduated in 2010 and was an active member in FFA where she served as an officer, raised rabbits and goats, and competed on Quiz Team and Dairy Foods Judging (now Milk Quality). Ms. Grape graduated from Texas A&M University with her Bachelors in Animal Science Production and Minor in Business Administration in December of 2013. She then went on to get her Masters in Agricultural Development with an emphasis in Extension Education and a graduate certificate in Non-Profit Management in August of 2015. She served as 4-H Program Assistant in Llano County from 2015-2016. While in college, she was an active member of Saddle & Sirloin and served as Agricultural Council Representative in 2012-2013. She was also very active in Horsemen’s Association and worked at both the TAMU Horse Center and Equestrian Center while she was a student. She is an avid duck hunter and shows her horse occasionally in local ranch horse shows. She currently resides with her fiancé and three dogs in Tomball, TX






Kyle Atkins

Mr. Atkins began teaching Agriculture Science in 2017 at Cypress Woods High School. He graduated from Sam Houston State University where he was an Ambassador for the Dept. of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering Technology. While in college, he student taught at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy ISD.

Mr. Atkins is another proud Graduate from Cypress Woods High School class of 2013. He served as an FFA officer, raised goats and poultry .

Fun Fact: Mr. Atkins was a Cy-Woods Wild Thing!!


Monica McClellan

Ms. McClellan started teaching agricultural science at Cypress Woods High School in 2018. She student taught at Tomball High School in Tomball ISD. She is a 2018 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science and a double minor in in Secondary Education and Equine Science. During her time at SHSU, she competed in Track and Field and she and her team won two conference championships. She was also was the President of Horseman's Association where she and her organization held the SHSU Horse Judging Clinic. Prior to college, Ms. McClellan was graduate of Cypress Woods High School, and a member of Cypress Woods FFA, where she raised lambs and goats. She now resides in Hockley, Texas.


Tyler Meischen

Mr. Meischen started teaching at Cypress Woods High School in 2019. He has taught previously at West Hardin High School and Cypress Springs High School. Mr. Meischen graduated in 2016 from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Agriculture. He is also a graduate of Cypress Woods HS (class of 2010), and was a part of the very first Cypress Woods FFA chapter. While in FFA, he raised pigs and turkeys, and was part of the livestock judging team. He is an avid hunter and enjoys spending time in the greenhouse. He currently resides in Cypress, Texas.
