Hello Blue Jays!!! My name is Mrs. Forosisky and I am your Elementary School Counselor. It is my honor to work with such an amazing group of students and their awesome families! It is my 3rd year here at Conemaugh Valley and I cannot wait to get started!

For those of you who do not know me, here is a little background information. I was born and raised right here in Johnstown! In 2006, I graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor's of science. I started working at nonprofit organizations providing prevention programs to thousands of students from PreK through 12th grade as well as providing counseling to victims and children of domestic violence. It was during this time that I realized how much I LOVE working with kids to help overcome whatever it is that they are facing. So, I went back to school to become a School Counselor. In 2014, I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling from Capella University and now I have the privilege of being your school counselor!

Please know that I am here to help ALL students achieve academically, socially/personally, and to help to motivate them for their future careers. Sometimes that means we will be discussing some difficult topics. It is important to yo understand that I take all student issues seriously. Due to the respect I have for all parties involved I live by the motto, what is said in Mrs. Forosisky's office, stays in Mrs. Forosisky's office...UNLESS someone is hurting you, you want to hurt someone else, or you want to hurt yourself. That's when I know that help is needed and I will be reaching out to families and potentially local resources.

Please explore my site to find links that may be beneficial to you as a student or as a parent! There are various programs that exist at the school and if you have questions or would like more information, please contact me at (814) 535-6970 or

So, What is a School Counselor Anyway???

  • The school counselor is someone who is here to help you do your best work in school.
  • The school counselor is a person who will listen when you need someone to talk to. Listening helps your counselor understand your feelings.
  • The school counselor is your adult friend. You are never "in trouble" when you have to see the school counselor.
  • The school counselor is someone who will help you think about possible solutions to your problems so you can choose which one is best.
