Here are some websites that students and/or families may be interested in browsing. If you have suggestions for sites, please let me know.

Curriculum Resources
- Visit Time For Kids to stay informed about what's happening in the news!
 - Visit Newsela and sign in with your school Google account for access to news articles at a variety of levels. Take quizzes, highlight, and annotate articles.
- Visit Scholastic News to stay informed about news written just for kids, as well as to take quizzes to test your knowledge.
- Learn science from Bill Nye the Science Guy! Learn about experiments you can try at home!
- You don't have to wait until the spring when the class studies poetry... get a head start now and check out some of the great poetry written for kids.
- The National Council on Teaching Mathematics (NCTM) provides this website of resources and activities for all students to learn math. Choose from 99 activities in a wide range of grade levels and topics!
- A variety of games and worksheets to practice multiplication facts. Students can work at their own pace and play as many times as they want.

Kid-friendly sites
- Learn and improve your typing speed with this free online program. Login with your school Google account.
- These free online tutorials encourage students to use basic computer science skills to problem solve their way through various levels.
- This site offers games, words of the week, kid polls, and many other fun activities.
- Do you know how to play sudoku? Play this number puzzle that makes you think and problem solve... all while having fun!
- Learn about animals, places and more via photos, fun facts, stories, and videos.
- Stretch your mind with math puzzles, such as Kakooma.

For parents
- Garden Gate's website-- check here to learn about GG happenings, the PTA, and more.
- Garden Gate's official PTA website-- Find out when PTA meetings are, when the next PTA event is, and how you can get involved in the PTA.
- The CUSD web site provides information about the district, including district news, the district calendar, and links to district schools.
- Place your Scholastic Book Club order online by using your credit card. Our class activation code is "GPDYM".
- CUSD has adopted the California content standards. At the CDE's website, you can find the standards for English Language Arts, Mathematics, History-Social Science, and Science. Within each subject, you can view and download by grade level.
- We have transitioned to the newly adopted Common Core Standards. Visit the website to learn more about the standards.
- The district has adopted Common Sense Media curriculum as our guide to teaching students about digital literacy and citizenship.
- Pre-pay for students' school lunches online. You will need to register for an account, then you can view your account balance, monitor what your child eats, and receive e-mail notification of your account balance.
- This site is dedicated to supporting parents. It gives advice on common issues that parents face, introduces parents to PBS Kids programs, and provides guides to help parents support their children.

- A collection of logic puzzles, trivia, and games. The logic puzzles keep your mind sharp and really put your problem-solving skills to the test!
- A website designed to stimulate creativity, learning, enjoyment, and imagination. There are games, activities, information pages, and so much more!
- A library for the world's children, this website makes available a collection of international children's books for you to read online.
- This site has a variety of math games, including logic puzzles and word problems.
