Parents can order online from Scholastic and sales benefit Parkview Junior High School library and allow for us to choose books to add to our collection.  The website for the reading club is listed below.  A parent would click on "First time here? Parents" and enter our school code, PY7C6.

We had a successful book fair this fall!  Students are in the process of choosing hard cover books to recommend for purchase for our library with the Scholastic dollars we earned.

Each week we highlight a Rebecca Caudill Young Reader Book Award book n the library.  The student's watch a book trailer on YouTube then have the option to check out that book or to be added to the list to receive it when it is available.   More information about the books we have been highlighting can be found here:

When students finish reading a "Caudill" book, they may speak to Mrs. Newlin when they return the book.  After some simple questions about the book, the student will be added to a list and can continue to check off the Caudill books as they read them.  At the end of the year, prizes will be awarded for the student/students who have read the most Caudill books.  A variety of prizes have been given in past years, including cash and gift certificates.

Watch the new Harry Potter book trailer "The Cursed Child"
The movie for this book will be released in 2018. We recommend that children read the book to enhance the movie experience.

Non-fiction Career / Vocational Guidance books (Our library has a Career Choices section and 7th graders are currently working on researching careers for their writing class.)
