The Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (WYSE) regional was held on Wednesday, February 1st at Olney Central College.  Teams from all over the region competed in written tests covering biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering graphics, english, mathematics and physics.  The team from Lawrenceville high school took 3rd place behind Robinson and Newton.  Four team members medaled and will advance to the sectional contest at Eastern Illinois University on March 9th.  Noah Volkman took 2nd place in engineering graphics.  Emily Moore won 1st place in english.  Seth Croslow and Alyssa Ruston-Bray tied for first place in chemistry.  Seth also placed 3rd in physics.
The team is coached by LHS teacher David Atkins.
