The top 3 teams advanced to the IHSA Sectional to be held in Salem October 9. Going into the Sectional we felt it would be a battle for the third slot between us, Salem and Effingham. Effingham came through today and played well on their home course to earn a birth in the Salem Sectional.

Mattoon was upset Charleston for the team championship.

Although, we did not advance as a team, Camren Ray, Nolan Tewell, Landen Ray and Garrett Hulfacher advanced as individuals by being in the top 10 individuals for the day after removing the team players of the top 3 qualifying teams. These young men will compete as individuals in the Sectional Tournament. Anyone of them has the capability to play well enough to qualify out of the Sectional and advance to the State finals in Bloomington later next week.

We finished the team schedule with a record of 63 and 31. We competed in 9 team tournaments. Due to our youth, we have struggled at times with consistency, but with hard work, dedication, and desire for success next year is very exciting to think about.
