Stevie Brown begins his fifth year in administration as Assistant Principal at Collinsville High School. Prior to joining the Kahok Team, Mr. Brown was an assistant principal in high school and middle school settings in both Missouri and Illinois districts. He began his educational career by spending 9 years as a physical education, health, and driver’s education teacher in Edwardsville, East St. Louis, Melhville and Riverview Gardens School Districts. During his time in these districts, Mr. Brown coached football, wrestling, and track & field. Mr. Brown has coached several All-Conference and State All-American athletes.
Mr. Brown was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduating from Minor (AL) High School, Mr. Brown enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he wrestled on the All Navy Greco/Freestlye Wrestling Team where he wrestled in several national and international tournaments. After his time in the military, Mr. Brown wrestled for Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where he was a three year starter and a national qualifier.
Mr. Brown has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Education, a Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration and he is currently working on his Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Mr. Brown continues to build his own foundation in his educational journey and looks forward to what the future has in store for him.
Mr. Brown is married to Kay (District level math/science curriculum content leader in a local area district) and has 4 children: Jordan, a high school teacher in Indiana, Colton, working and coaching for O'Fallon District 90, Parker, an accounting student at Missouri State University and Zach, a junior at CHS. He and his family are Collinsville residents and enjoy participating in the wide variety of activities in the area.
