Jana & Keeper Hendrix

Jana is a 49 year old mother of her son Keeper who is 8 years old. 

She is a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She has been teaching school in the Warren County School system for 28 years. She was awarded Middle Tn. Teacher of the Year in 2010. She not only teaches school, but she also teaches A.C.T. classes, roller skating and swimming. She loves music and tries to incorporate it into teaching her students. She loves her family, her friends and her students. She is also blessed to have her precious son Keeper in her life. One of her favorite memories was when she and her son sang a duet at church on Mother's Day of this year, 2012.

Keeper Hendrix is 8 years old. He goes to Christ United Methodist Church. His Sunday School teacher is Phyllis Nowlin. He is in 3rd grade at West Elementary and his teacher is Tessia Stewart. Keeper  has begun taking Jiu Jitsu class at McMinnville Jiu Jitsu where his instructors, Robin Clark, Ray Bishop and Colton Fincher teach him self-defense. Keeper loves to run, climb and play with friends and cousins. He also loves going to visit his Ma Not, Pa Birthday, Juh Juh, Nana, Papa and Mie Mie. Keeper loves to meet new people. Keeper loves for the family to get together for dinners at his house.

Mary & Andy Richardson

Mary and Andy Richardson are a father/daughter dance team. 

Both were born in Clarksville, TN, but Mary later moved to McMinnville with her mother and step-father and began to sing everywhere she could including fairs, pageants, sporting events, talent shows, competitions, and most importantly church. She graduated from Warren County High School in 2011 and is currently a sophomore at Tennessee Tech University studying Early Childhood Education and Special Ed. Mary's talent for singing was passed down to her from her dad, Andy. 

Andy was a singer in a gospel group for a number of years and was very active in musical theater throughout high school. Both Mary and Andy were voted Most Talented in their high school senior classes. After high school, Andy served a number of years in the Marine Corps and is now working with fiberoptics at Owen's Telecom. 

David & Cydney Langford

David and Cydney Langford have been married for nine years and have a 4 year old son named Charles. Charles is so excited to watch Mommy and Daddy dance tonight! David has just retired from life on the road as a concert lighting tech and is starting his new career in the family business at Greenwood Nursery. David is dancing in support of his father, Joe Langford, a cancer survivor. Cydney is the owner of Wink Skin Care. She is dancing in memory of her grandfather, Charles A Jones who passed away from cancer.

They are dancing to the song Grace Kelly by Mika.

Kelly & Cynthia Basham

Kelly and Cynthia Basham are both Warren County natives and have been married for 31 years. They have three adult children, eight grandchildren and live here in McMinnville.

Cynthia is the manager at Prater’s Bar-B-Que and has been working there for the last 15 years. Kelly is a certified network administrator and is the Information Technologies Officer and a vice-president at Security Federal Savings Bank.

Kelly started skating some 38 years ago, earning state and regional titles in Men’s Freestyle roller skating. Cynthia had skated as a teenager but didn’t get serious until about 13 years ago when returning to the sport after they had taken a 20 year break to raise their children. In the past few years they have made several public performances with their friends, The MacTown Rollers.

Andrew Grissom & Alicia Lawson [People's Choice Award]

Andrew Grissom is 26 years old. He works at Farrar, Holliman & Medley. His hobbies include 4-wheeling and dancing for a cure. Andrew decided to dance tonight because he loves Elaine Curtis Lawson so much.

Alicia Lawson is 30 years old. She is an employee of Farrar, Holliman and Medley and has been for 8 years. She works in the Social Security Disability Department.

She loves doing things outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family and
friends. Alicia is dancing in memory of Jewel Rose White and in Honor of Shane Thomas.

Ted Turner

Ted Turner is 41 years old and a general manager for Pizza Hut.  He is from Jonesboro, Georgia, a small town 30 miles south of Atlanta. Ted is dancing for this fund raiser in memory of his Mom. She lost her fight with cancer in 1981.  He is also dancing in the honor of his friends that have survived cancer, Audrey Michewicz, Missy Smith, and Elaine Lawson.  Ted thanks you for your donations for this great cause and hopes the dance is entertaining for all.

Ted will be dancing to Good Vibration by Marky Mark & The Funcky Bunch.

Mike Lorance & B.J. Meeks

Mike Lorance is owner/operator of Cherry Springs Nursery. He is the son of Arthur and Irene Lorance. He is married to Joanna, who is a retired teacher at Centertown Elementary. They have two children, Morgan and Micah. They attend Centertown United Methodist Church. Mike is the president of the Laity for the Methodist Churches. Mike Loves to sing, and B.J. says he is a dancing fool.

Born a coal miner’s daughter from Grundy County, with two sisters (Mary Hillis of McMinnville & Christine Price of Tracy City) and one brother (Curley Mitchell Meeks of Monteagle), BJ is blessed with many nieces and nephews.

B.J. is a retired educator, coach and a former Tennessee State Trooper.
Her life revolves around her church, Centertown United Methodist. It is a very active church, with a free food Program, Bus Ministry, Jail Ministry, Food pantry & Two Mission teams (Guatamala and Native American). The Church also has Committees for everything and everyone. They have a growing choir, Sunday school classes for all ages and love to help people.

B.J.'s home life consists of pets which are all adopted (except the Schnauzer), seven dogs and seven cats.

Ms. Meeks wanted to do “Dancing with Our Stars” for her mother Kathleen Meeks, who loved to dance and many other close friends and mentors who have had cancer and those that are still fighting the battle everyday.

Mark Hale & Jessica Wilcher

Mark Russell Hale was born on August 19th, 1978, in McMinnville TN to proud parents Waymon and Melba Hale. As a young boy his interest were fishing, hunting and playing soccer. He started working at a young age for his dad and when he finished high school, moved to Knoxville where he worked for Sea Ray boat manufacturer and at J.C. Penney in th men’s clothing department. After returning to McMinnville he worked at Custom Construction Co. In 2001, he and his Dad formed an excavation company known as Dirt Works, where he is in charge of operations.

Mark married Karissa Turner on June 7, 2000. They have 2 children, Emilee Grace and Hence Garrison Hale. He is active in his children’s sports and a devoted husband and father. He enjoys boating, travel and the company of family and friends. Mark was awarded the honor of Young Businessman of the Year in 2010. In the past few years he has become interested in fitness and has participated in several marathons and triathlons as well as having a dedication to weight training and physical fitness. Mark is dancing tonight in memory of his mother-in-law, Karon Hall Layne, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2011. 

Jessica Wilcher was born and raised in Warren County and is the 23 year old daughter of Joey and Lydia Wilcher. She is currently employed at Security Federal Savings Bank and also helps out with her family business, Phillips Sales and Service. She is a graduate of Warren County High School where she was a member of the Varsity cheerleading squad. Jessica continued her education at Tennessee Tech University where she recieved a scholarship to cheer on the Golden Eagle cheerleading squad and was chosen to be a member of their competition cheer squad. Jessica has kept her cheer spirit alive here in Warren County and is an instructor for Tennessee gymnastics and Cheerleading and is the very proud cheer coach of the Eastside Elementary School cheer squads. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys running, gardening, shopping, and spending every minute she can with her friends and family.
