In the wooded policies near the south gate; All that remains is a rectangular depression in the ground; I don't remember any source of water; OS 6 in. 1897 and 1911 show small rectangular curling pond, OS 6 in. 1938 shows it but does not call it curling pond; Also referred to as Kilmaurs artificial; account of its making in 1898 In a small field close to the south western part of the village known as Fauldfield, Kilmarnock Standard 19 April 1913; OS 6in. 1908 ed. and in 1937 2½ in; OS NS 4140
