Chicago Bulls vs. Utah Jazz C-SC Alumni Event

"Hoop" it up with C-SC!
C-SC alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students are coming to Chicago! Break out of the winter blahs and jump into a night of fun and "fandimonium" with the C-SC Concert Choir at the Chicago Bulls vs. Utah Jazz Basketball game. At half-time the Chicago Bulls will be honoring the 1991 Championship Team - including appearances by Michael Jordan, Horace Grant, Scottie Pippen, John Paxson and more! 

We'll be gathering pre-game inside the United Center at the Budweiser Select Brew Pub & Carvery for complimentary appetizers and cash bar. (*Must be 21 to enter the Brew Pub)
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Tip-Off 7:00 p.m.

Dr. Jan Shippps

Robison Lecture in Religion
March 22, 2011

Culver-Stockton College’s annual Robison Lecture in Religion is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 2011. The lecture will feature Dr. Jan Shipps, professor emerita of history and religious studies from Indiana University, Purdue University at Indianapolis. Dr. Shipps, the best-known non-Mormon scholar of Mormonism, will deliver a lecture entitled “Sojourner in the Promised Land: A Methodist’s Astonishing Half-Century among the Mormons.” The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in Merillat Chapel located inside the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center on the C-SC campus.

Dr. Shipps served as the first non-Mormon and first woman president of the Mormon History Association, program chair for the annual meeting of the Western History Association, president of the John Whitmer Historical Association and president of the American Society of Church History. Shipps also served as an American Studies Association delegate to the Japanese American Studies Association in 2003. Dr. Shipps is the founding co-editor of Religion and American Culture: A Journal of Interpretation and she served as director of the IUPUI Center for American Studies.

Georgia Robison Beale endowed the Robison Lectureship in honor of her father, Dr. Henry Barton Robison, professor of religion and Dean of the School of Religion at Culver-Stockton College from 1910-44. Dr. Robison was educated at Transylvania College, College of the Bible (Lexington Theological Seminary), and the Divinity School of the University of Chicago where he was a 1907 Ph.D. graduate in Bible and Old Testament. His impact was felt by several generations of students at Culver-Stockton.  If you would like further information about the Robison Lecture, please feel free to contact us 800-755-2287. The mission of the Culver-Stockton College Homecoming Committee is to bring together the Wildcat community by providing numerous opportunities to honor the C-SC tradition. We reach out to the student body, alumni and community to celebrate what it means to be a Wildcat. Plans are already underway to remember the past, celebrate the present and look forward to the future on the Hill. We look forward to welcoming you home… Go Wildcats! 

Culver-Stockton College Homecoming 2011 Theme/Logo Contest

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, community members and friends of Culver-Stockton have the opportunity to submit their ideas for the 2011 homecoming theme and logo. The contest begins Feb. 14 and will close on May 6, 2011. The goal is to get everyone on campus and in the surrounding areas involved.

Our homecoming game will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011. The Culver-Stockton College Wildcats will take on the Missouri Valley Vikings. The winning theme/logo will be selected by the homecoming board and will be the basis for all events throughout the week-long homecoming celebration leading up to the game. Past themes include “Blue Express,” “Wild with Pride,” and last year’s theme, “True to Blue.”

The person with the winning theme/logo will choose one prize package from three various prize packages offered. Prize packages include, but are not limited to: iTunes cards, Flip video camera, restaurant gift cards, Culver-Stockton apparel and a pair of tickets to all events during the week-long homecoming celebration. The winner will also have the chance to serve as a judge for the homecoming parade.

Send your homecoming theme/logo contest submissions to: or mail them to the Culver-Stockton College Alumni Office, One College Hill, Canton, MO 63435. Art work submissions must follow the criteria listed and be included as an attachment to the e-mail.

All files must be at least 300 dpi and will only be accepted in the following formats: jpeg, pdf, bmp or tiff. Once a final selection is made all original files (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and links must be sent to the Alumni Office at

    • Class year (if applicable)

Deadline for submission is May 6, 2011. The contest is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, community members and friends of C-SC. Only one person can win for an entry. If more than one entry is submitted with the same (or very similar) theme, the winner will be the first submitter. The C-SC Alumni Office will determine and notify the winner by May 13, 2011. All entries become the property of Culver-Stockton College and must be family friendly to be considered. Beyond the prizes awarded, the winner will not receive any compensation for the use of their theme submission.

The best way for a prospective student to see if the college is right for them is for the student to see it for themselves! Alumni and Friends are encouraged to share their stories with prospective students of promise and encourage them to come check out C-SC first hand. Contact the Admission Department for assistance in making arrangements for a student you know to visit Culver-Stockton College. You can reach the Admission Office a number of ways, come to the office on the second floor of Henderson Hall, visit them on the web at or / or give them a call at (800) 537-1883. Parents/Families Can Stay Involved!
We are excited to offer current and past parents/families an opportunity to stay involved with C-SC through the newly 
established Parent Association. This group allows current and past parents to stay connected with C-SC serving as a 
resource for the college. Please, consider assisting the Admission Office, Career Services or participate in special fundraising efforts by becoming active in the new Parent Association.

Connected Campus
Do you know of someone who is interested in finishing his or her degree? Culver-Stockton College's Connected Campus provides students a convenient online format offered in accelerated 8 week terms. Our program is taught by Culver-Stockton's own full-time faculty who are interested in helping students succeed. With the on-line format, students can attend class wherever and whenever they want.
