How did Culver-Stockton help you in your career?
C-SC gave me a strong backbone to build my career, from leadership opportunities to social networking. In fact, I need to thank the C-SC Development Office for calling me to inform me that Bank of America (formerly NationsBank) had an opening a year after graduating. Even though I wasn't in the job market as I was perfectly happy with my employer, I decided to go interview. And after a series of interviews, I was offered the position as an associate client manager in commercial lending. I thank C-SC for contacting me as I have now been with the company for 12 years.
What's a special memory you have of your time on campus?
My first memorable experience was when Carla Boren, admissions counselor, continually contacted me to see if I had made a college choice, and every time we spoke she would ask "personable" questions. This left a lasting impression on me, and I realized this is a college that truly cares about its students. Thanks Carla for taking the time to get to know me and other prospective students as this was important to me. I have many other fond C-SC memories from building lifetime friendships through Chi Omega to being a Resident Assistant in McDonald Hall, from Student Government to working in the cafeteria. I can't forget going to Florida in a cast with the softball team over Spring Break (What a great tan I had on half of my leg!). Another memory was when a team of Culver Chi Omegas played flag football in the New Orleans competition! Also, I was able to expand my horizons by traveling abroad to Venezuela. I could go on and on with wonderful C-SC memories!
What do you enjoy about being on the alumni board?
I truly believe in C-SC and want to give back as it has given me so many opportunities in life. Serving on the alumni board is one way I can give back to my alma mater!
|If you or a C-SC alumnus/a you know is interested in serving on the board, please contact Gina Driscoll, alumni board president, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.|
