"Hoop" it up with C-SC!
C-SC alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students are coming to Chicago! Break out of the winter blahs and jump into a night of fun and "fandimonium" with the C-SC Concert Choir at the Chicago Bulls vs. Utah Jazz Basketball game. At half-time the Chicago Bulls will be honoring the 1991 Championship Team - including appearances by Michael Jordan, Horace Grant, Scottie Pippen, John Paxson and more! 

We'll be gathering pre-game inside the United Center at the Budweiser Select Brew Pub & Carvery for complimentary appetizers and cash bar. (*Must be 21 to enter the Brew Pub)
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Tip-Off 7:00 p.m.

Robison Lecture in Religion
February 23, 2011

On behalf of Culver-Stockton College, we are pleased to invite you to the annual Henry Barton Robison Lecture in Religion on Tuesday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the Merillat Chapel. This year’s lecturer is Dr. Jan Shipps, Professor Emerita of History and Religious Studies from Indiana University and Purdue University at Indianapolis. Dr. Shipps, the best-known non-Mormon scholar of Mormonism, will deliver a lecture entitled, “Sojourner in the Promised Land: A Methodist’s Astonishing Half-Century among the Mormons.”

Georgia Robison Beale endowed the Robison Lectureship in honor of her father, Dr. Henry Barton Robison, professor of religion and Dean of the School of Religion at Culver-Stockton College from 1910-44. Dr. Robison was educated at Transylvania College, College of the Bible (Lexington Theological Seminary), and the Divinity School of the University of Chicago where he was a 1907 Ph.D. graduate in Bible and Old Testament. His impact was felt by several generations of students at Culver-Stockton.  If you would like further information about the Robison Lecture, please feel free to contact us 800-755-2287. The best way for a prospective student to see if the college is right for them is for the student to see it for themselves! Alumni and Friends are encouraged to share their stories with prospective students of promise and encourage them to come check out C-SC first hand. Contact the Admission Department for assistance in making arrangements for a student you know to visit Culver-Stockton College. The Business Division faculty at Culver-Stockton College has proposed offering an online Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree. The MBA will require 33 hours and offer the choice of specialization in Management or Accounting/Finance.

Will Johnson

Musburger, Uecker, Ryan Elected To NSSA Hall of Fame Tirico, King Win National Awards / 

Murry, Johnson Win NSSA Missouri Awards / Culver-Stockton College Grad, Will Johnson

SALISBURY, NC (January 10 -- For Immediate Release) – Longtime play-by-play announcers Brent Musburger and  Bob Uecker and Bob Ryan, a 42-year veteran of the Boston Globe, have been voted  into  the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame, NSSA Executive Director Dave Goren  announced  today.  The three will be enshrined in Salisbury on May 16, 2011.

Joining Musburger, Uecker and Ryan will be 2010 National Sportscaster of the Year Mike Tirico of ABC and ESPN, and 2010 National Sportswriter of the Year Peter King of Sports Illustrated. In addition, 110 State Sportscasters and Sportswriters of the Year from 49 states and the District of Columbia (see list below) will be honored during the NSSA’s 52nd Annual Awards Weekend, May 14-16.  

Among those 110 winners are Missouri’s Jay Murry.  The radio voice of the Washington University Bears, Murry has won his second Missouri Sportscaster of the Year Award.  For Johnson of the Gasconade County Republican, this is his first Missouri Sportswriter of the Year Award. Will Johnson, is a Culver-Stockton College '04 graduate and son, of C-SC assistant professor of management information systems, Jeanne Johnson.

Our program is taught by Culver-Stockton's own full-time faculty who are interested in helping students succeed. With the on-line format, students can attend class wherever and whenever they want.
