Akela or "Good Leader" includes Volunteers, Parents and Teachers

All parents that accompany scouts on camp outs must have Youth Protection training and all parents that help with the den and plan on going on outings should also have Youth Protection.

You do not need to be a registered leader to take the training.  Anyone may setup an account on Scouting.org and then to take the Youth Protection training at the following page.

So that we keep a record of your training, please send me an email of your Youth Protection certificate (to daniel@cubpack69.org).

Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader!

A Scout leader is considered fully trained and entitled to wear the Trained leader emblem (patch) when he or she has completed the following training courses and the specific training for the position. Most courses are available online.
  • Fast Start Training (is the first step for any new volunteer)
  • Youth Protection Training
  • This is Scouting (has replaced New Leader Essentials training)
  • Position Specific Training
    • Cub Scout Leaders
