Summary of Mission Trip to CTK Philippines

Written by Derek Archer, Community Life Pastor at CTK Bellingham, following their team's recent 2 week trip to the Philippines.

Our team spent 11 days in the Philippines. It was tremendously encouraging to see the humble leaders that God has placed in the CTK churches there. They hosted a pastors conference that we were able to help with, and we saw over 200 pastors and leaders encouraged. Several pastors committed to starting CTK's this upcoming year. Over 200 youth committed or re-committed their lives to Jesus at the Youth Conference that they put on. (86 year old Pastor Finn said it was the most impacting time of his life, and is committed to starting three more CTK's.) What was great at both conferences was seeing the Filipino leaders encourage and pray for each of those in attendance, and get a great vision for empowering other leaders. We were able to visit the nine existing CTK's, and it was incredible seeing the logo and mission statement in big and large, urban and rural locations. The nine pastors got together for the first time to plan upcoming outreaches, and hopefully a future Arrows Out conference as well. We were also able to speak at the weekend services, lead a Kid's outreach, and participate in a worship night. There are tons of ministry opportunities for leaders, pastors and CTK groups that are interested in helping God's work in the Philippines, and my whole team hopes to return soon.
