Baking students experience skill development that is required for employment in local bakeries, restaurants and supermarkets. Students will gain valuable work experience in the school bakery by selling items, dealing with customers and working with money.

Baking curriculum includes:

  • Making breads and desserts for Food Service
  • Baking apple turnovers and other pastries
  • Making cakes for bakery and customer orders
  • Making store and holiday cookies
  • Frying doughnuts
  • Using equipment found in commercial bakeries
  • Decorating sheet cakes and layer cakes
  • Decorating brownies and cupcakes for our store
  • Filling customers orders
